FAQ

As questions are asked, we'll fill them in!

Q: What's with the parts you carry? Seems like an odd selection.
A: As we make the molds the part is added to the "Parts" section, and can be purchased by anyone, and made to your specifications (thickness, material styles, visable weave, etc).

Q: Explain a little about the methods you use to make your parts.
A: We use vacuum infusion to manufacture all of our composite parts. This means that the materials are set in the mold dry, placed inside of a vacuum bag, and a vacuum is introduced. While under vacuum the resin is pulled through the part. This creates an incredibly resin light peice that is very strong and very light. Done properly, the vacuum infusion process can rival pre-preg carbon fiber for strength and weight.

Q: Pre-Preg?
A: Pre-preg is carbon fiber (or kevlar) that is pre-impregnated with resin. It is a bit more difficult to work with than vacuum infusion due to the uncured materials need to be kept cold, and the requirement that the finished peice be cured in an autoclave.

Q: So what's the process for getting a completly custom part made?
A: Basically, we'll need an original part to pull a mold from, then BAM! We're off to making a copy of the part in carbon or kevlar. Alternatly, if you want a completly custom part, we will make what you are looking for, then make the mold from that.

Q: So how much does that cost?
A: It differs on the part, application, and your needs. Give us a call, or shoot us an email and we'll be happy to discuss exactly what you need.

Q: Can you cover my existing dash/roof/bumper in carbon fiber?
A: No. It is too time consuming and labor intensive.

Q: What are my choices to have a piece made from?
A: Check out our available materials here. *Not all fabrics are kept in stock at all times. If you order a finish in an out of stock order, your part will be delayed as we order the proper materials.
